The Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027 (BMPC Awards), organized for the Sixth Consecutive Year by the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPM Sri Lanka), recognizes outstanding public and private sector organizations for their growth, success, and excellence in management practices.
The awards highlight best management practices demonstrated over the recent five-year period, assessing key areas including leadership, strategy, people management, partnerships and resources, processes, and performance outcomes. The initiative provides organizations with a structured framework to evaluate, benchmark, and enhance their management practices.
Winners will gain national and international recognition, strengthening their professional standing and corporate profile within the business community. Following a rigorous evaluation process, CPM Sri Lanka will recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in management, leadership, and organizational performance.
PROTECTED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The BMPC Awards identity and associated marks are formally protected through registrations secured with the National Intellectual Property Office of Sri Lanka (NIPO) Registration Nos.: 01-757/31 | 01-757/32 | 01-757/33 published in Gazette No. 2,422 dated 31st January 2025.
These registrations reinforce the official identity, authenticity, and intellectual property protection of the BMPC Awards.
A prestigious awards ceremony will be held on Friday, 26th February 2027, at the Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, bringing together 1,200+ top and senior-level corporate leaders from across Sri Lanka. The event will provide a distinguished platform to celebrate and recognize organizational excellence and outstanding management practices.

WHAT IS THE EVALUATION PERIOD?
1st January 2024 – 31st December 2026 (3-Year Period)
The BMPC Awards 2027 will evaluate organizational performance and management practices over the three-year period from 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2026.
Best Management Practices initiated prior to this period may also be considered, provided the submission clearly demonstrates the growth, progress, improvement, or transformation achieved during the official evaluation period.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The BMPC Awards 2027 are open to eligible local and foreign business organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Any local or foreign business organization that is legally registered and has been operating in Sri Lanka for at least 36 months prior to the date of application is eligible to apply.
- Separate applications from subsidiary companies within a group, conglomerate, or diversified organization will be accepted.
- Applications must be submitted under the official name of the applying organization, whether it is a company, conglomerate, or subsidiary company. Applications submitted in the name of individual divisions, departments, or business units will not be accepted.
- Organizations may submit applications under both Sector Awards and Cluster Awards, showcasing different best management practices.
For example, if XYZ Bank wishes to submit multiple applications:
Sector Award: (One Application only)
Example: Banking & Finance
(An organization may submit only one application under its relevant sector, based on the nature of its core business).
Cluster Awards: (Multiple applications)
Examples: Digital Literacy, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Quality & Productivity, Women Leadership & Women-Focused Initiatives, People/HR Governance
(An organization may submit multiple applications under different clusters, highlighting its achievements in specific areas of management excellence).
TYPE OF AWARDS
Overall Gold, Silver and Bronze Winners
Organizations attaining the highest scores in their reports and presentations will automatically qualify for this award, with no separate application required.
Excellence in Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027
Top 10 Ranked Organizations achieving the highest overall scores based on their submitted reports and presentations will automatically qualify for this prestigious recognition. The top 10 companies will be comprised;
No separate application is required for this award.
From among these Top 10 Excellence Award recipients, the Overall Winners will be selected based on their final evaluation scores.
Outstanding Companies in Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027
Top 40 Ranked Organizations achieving the highest overall scores based on their submitted reports and presentations will automatically qualify for this prestigious recognition. The top 40 companies will be comprised;

04. SECTOR AWARDS
The Winner, 01st Runner-up and 02nd Runner-up, Merit Winners and Certificate of Recognition will be recognized under each sector and sub-sector.
05. CLUSTER AWARDS

06. LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE IN BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES COMPANY AWARDS 2027
The award will be presented to the signatory representing each of the Top 10 Companies selected for the Excellence in Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027.
The Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, or General Manager who endorses the organization’s report and PowerPoint presentation will be eligible for this award in recognition of his/her exemplary leadership in driving organizational excellence. No separate application is required for this category.
07. MERIT IN BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES COMPANY AWARDS 2027
Organizations achieving an overall score between 50% and 60%, but not receiving the titles of Winner, 1st Runner-up, or 2nd Runner-up in their respective Sector or Cluster, will be recognized with the “Merit in Best Management Practices Company Award 2027.”
08. CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION IN BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES COMPANY AWARDS 2027
Organizations achieving an overall score between 40% to 49% marks, but not receiving the titles of Winner, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, or Merit in Best Management Practices Company Award 2027 in their respective Sector or Cluster, will be recognized with the “Certificate of Recognition in Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027.”
09. ORGANIZATIONS WHO EARN 39% OR BELOW MARKS WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED.
Organizations who earn 39% or below marks will not be recognized.

The Submission Fee must be paid separately, based on the number of submissions made.

Each submission fee includes three complimentary seats for the CPM Management Insights Summit 2027 to be held on 25th February 2027.
All Registration and Submission Fees are non-refundable.
Complimentary seat allocations cannot be transferred to any other CPM Sri Lanka events.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
Judges are not expected to visit organizations. Therefore, the organization report must be endorsed by the MD/CEO/GM/Proprietor as true and correct (organization rubber stamp/seal and signature).
Note;
This is a very important requirement as signatory of organization’s MD/CEO/GM or Proprietor will be recognized in the event of the organization is selected under the Leadership Excellence (Point No. 06 of Type of Awards).

Guidelines for the Top 40 Selected Company Presentations
Organizations ranked among the Top 40, based on the highest marks at the overall evaluation, will be invited to participate in an online 10-minute presentation and 08-minute Q&A session with the evaluation panel.
The same three presenters who delivered the original video presentation are required to attend.
No replications to the presenters will be permitted, and the Q&A session will be conducted strictly within the defined framework. The session will focus on four specified areas, which are as follow;

SHOWCASING BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES STORIES AT THE CPM MANAGEMENT INSIGHTS SUMMIT 2027
Top 10 companies who qualify for the Excellence in Best Management Practices Company Awards 2027 will be invited to showcase their stories at Session 3 and Session 4 of the CPM Management Insights Summit 2027. The presenters who participated in the presentation evaluation round must be the same. Additionally, the MD/CEO/GM or Proprietor will be invited to accompany the respective presenters.
INFORMATION SECURITY
The Institute assures the security of information provided by companies. It will not be divulged to a third party unless for technical evaluation to a panel of judges. The judges will adhere to the confidentiality of information ensured by CPM Sri Lanka.
AUTHORITY
The Panel of Judges will be the sole and final deciding authority regarding evaluation procedures and award recipients.
